In the spotlight: Psoriasis - Summer weather causes anxiety among psoriasis patients
Wevelgem - Belgium - 17/07/2008 - Released by MEDIAtlas
Summer weather causes anxiety among psoriasis patients
Red spots and a flaky skin .. going to the swimming pool like this does not seem so appealing. Yet these are the symptoms of 3% of the world population. Till today,
psoriasis is incurable and its emotional impact is often underestimated. What few know is that psoriasis is not contagious and
can be effectively treated.
This skin disease is seasonal and situational. According to the National Psoriasis Foundation,
there are 125 million people worldwide who have psoriasis. A wrong diet, stress or insecurity can often trigger psoriasis
attacks. The scales on the skin are actually dead skin cells which have died too soon. A normal cycle of the top layer of skin
cells lasts about a month. Therefore, coming into contact with psoriasis patients is not a problem. Psoriasis is not contagious,
but hereditary. The disease usually appears between 15 and 25 years of ages.
Summer worries
This time of the year is usually a difficult period for people who suffer from psoriasis. The disease can be highly visible and with the warm
weather and the numerous visits to the swimming pool, a problem arises for the psoriasis patient. Often there is a vicious
emotional circle: many patients with red spots and scaly skin find it difficult to come out in the open with their skin disease.
This creates a stress factor and can even lead to feelings of inferiority. These anxieties can themselves lead to serious
psoriasis attacks, confining the patient even more to his uncomfortable disease.
There are various treatments possible: light therapy, medicines and topical treatments with ointments and creams. Find out more about psoriasis and Psoramexal® Skin Care at www.psoramexal.com
Psoramexal® Innovative Skin Care
Psoramexal® is an effective and innovative skin care package for the topical treatment of psoriasis. This has been proved through scientific research as well as numerous positive reactions
of patients and therapists. The treatment of psoriasis with Psoramexal® works in two phases. In case of acute psoriasis attacks,
Psoramexal® Phase 1 can be used. This lotion has a higher concentration of ingredients. The lotion acts as an anti-inflammatory
agent and also disinfects the skin. The memory of the skin cells is repaired, so that the skin can grow again at the right tempo.
The Cream (Phase 2) makes your skin completely healthy again. Due to the lower concentration and the hydrating ingredients, this
rich cream has a soothing effect on the skin cells. This cream is also suitable for prolonged use and reduces the chance of
allergies.
Scientific research
Psoramexal® was tested in a study conducted under the guidance of Dr. A. Feleki. The
result: the itching disappears or drastically reduces after less than one day. After six weeks, the psoriatic symptoms of 70% of
the psoriasis patients were drastically reduced or had completely disappeared, says Dr. Feleki. You can read more about his
findings on http://www.psoramexal.be/Wetenschappelijk-Onderzoek-1.html.
